Japanese Beauty is Hiromix’s 1997 photobook, featuring a collection of portraits of Japanese models of the era. Unlike Hiromix’s earlier diaristic works like Girls Blue or the Steidl collection, Japanese Beauty eschews snapshots of city streets, interiors, or everyday objects. The personal, offhanded diary-like quality is absent, replaced by a more polished approach.
