Blankey Jet City were one of the most important rock bands to emerge from Japan in the 1990s, leaving a lasting impact on the country’s alternative music and visual culture. Formed in Fukuoka in 1987 and later relocating to Tokyo, the band consisted of Kenji Endo (vocals, guitar), Tatsuya Nakamura (drums), and Toshiyuki Terui (bass). Their music fused punk, blues, garage rock, and hard rock.
